Classroom workshops & Field Trips

Environmental lectures spotlight different focuses of the environmental movement throughout Los Angeles. Accompanied field trips provide a space for individuals to connect with topics at a deeper level.

  • Bring our surrounding environment into your classroom! This 1-hour interactive lesson* introduces students to the unique plants, animals, ecosystems, and people that shape Los Angeles, sparking curiosity and building foundational connections to their local environment. 

    Ages: K - 12

    *Lesson can be tailored to specific classroom interests

  • Building on classroom learning, this 3-hour field trip offers students the opportunity to explore outdoor spaces and dive deeper into environmental topics through hands on, place based experiences.

    Audience: K - 12

    • Hansen Dam, Lake View Terrace

    • Sepulveda Basin WIlidlife Reserve, Van Nuys

    • Angeles National Forest, Tujunga

    • Arroyo Seco, Altadena

  • 9:30 - 9:45am - Introductions and Expectations for Day 

    9:45 - 10:45am - Lesson and Walk/Hike (Breaks as Needed) 

    10:45 - 11:15am - Break

    11:15 - 12:45am - Service Project

    12:45 - 1:00am - Lesson Closing
