Beautification & Restoration

Our work reduces the risk and impact of extreme climatic events like flooding, heatwaves, and drought throughout our neighborhoods.

URBAN FLOODPLAIN MITIGATION

We believe individuals have the power to mitigate the negative impacts of environmental injustice through personal influence. REC provides litter abatement at local creeks and washes to help maintain a healthy watershed in a dense urban setting. Our ADOPT A SEWER program encourages community members to help maintain areas in their neighborhoods impacted by trash, flooding, weeds, and other related issues, especially during the rainy season.

hABITAT RESTORATION

Mountains, beaches, native plants, and wildlife are part of Los Angeles’ environment and serve as indicators of our community’s overall health. REC takes part in restoration projects that create habitat links for local species and enhance the resilience of our broader ecosystem.
